Headless blog with GraphCMS & Next.js

LauraRocks

So what did you do on a weekend middle of pandemic? I got rid of my old WordPress blog site and built a new simple blog site with GraphCMS as the backend and next.js application as the front end. It was easily deployed to the Vercel just by integrating the github repo to vercel and pushing the code to github. Nice, right?

While I have done stuff with react, this was my first attempt with next.js. I did have some problems understanding the very basics of getStaticProps, but all in all, it was very easy to build.

Actually, the easiest part was integrating the graphCMS backend with the next.js. GraphCMS has these access tokens that you can use when requesting the data from backend, so there is an extra layer of security. I will tell more about GraphCMS in the upcoming posts.
